A federal judge has given former Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman permission to travel to Charlotte, N.C., next week to attend the Democratic National Convention.
The convention is a week before Siegelman is to report to a federal prison in Louisiana to finish his 78-month sentence.
U.S. District Judge Mark Fuller said Siegelman can travel to Charlotte Sept. 3-6. Fuller ordered Siegelman to advise his probation officer of his flight plans and hotel plans.
Siegelman plans to lobby at the convention for President Obama to grant his request for clemency.
Fuller said Siegelman was not a flight risk and could go to the convention. But he repeated a concern he expressed at the sentencing hearing that Siegelman "continues to question the integrity" of the judicial system.
Well, he better hope Obama loses then. He’ll be one of the “out the door” Christmas pardons.
Not being from Alabama, I was unaware of this case. So I did a search on it. First thing I noticed, out of all the stories, NONE of them mentioned he was a Democrat.
The MSM bias is at it again. Sort of surprised to see stories even mentioning Obamas name and Siegalman in the same article. Somebody at the WH better get on that, the MSM is getting a little out of hand.
Preview of coming attractions...
... When Issa becomes AG-US in January...
hehehehe
As an Alabamian, I can assure you we are well aware that he is an democrat.
I met Siegelman back when he was first running for governor. He was creepy then and I expect he is creepy now. After I shook hands with him, I counted my fingers just to make sure I got them all back.
They needed one more convicted felon to fill in a foursoome when Obama hits the Carolina Golf Trail.
Mark Everett Fuller (born 1958, Enterprise, Alabama) is a federal judge for the U. S. District Court, Middle District of Alabama. He was nominated by George W. Bush on August 1, 2002 and confirmed by the US Senate on November 14, 2002.
...and should be nominated for the Supreme Court of the U.S.
It’s a cut and paste.
That’s what they put there.
