Afhganistan was Buddhist, Zoroastrian, Nestorian Christian, Hindu, and other.Afghanistan was never a homogenous place.
This is not done seriously, just in a way that would cause upset to Islamophiles who dream of ruling the world.
Muslims are doctrinally obsessed with acquiring more land, which is one of the few ways they can show they are good. If they just hold on to land they are average. But if they ever “lose Muslim land”, they are in shame and disgrace to everyone.
So showing that somebody, anybody, who is an infidel, owning all Muslim lands would about make their heads explode.
