For once I agree with the AMA

"Both patients and physicians should be able to exercise freedom in whom to enter into a patient-physician relationship ... physicians do not give up their freedom of association by merely becoming professionals."

So if the good Dr refuses to take a gay man with aids. will the AMA still support her? If a Dr does not want to take a patient then fine it is her right, but you know darn well that if the patient is of a certain group, then the crap will hit the fan. Right now fat people and smokers are unpc and can get treated in any negative fashion and the press and Pols will not say a word. Soon it will be war vets and gun owners and any one who does not support gay rights. Be for an individuals rights of who and who not to associate is all fine and well, but that is not what is going on. There is an agenda behind all this and it is not being hidden any more. Orwell was a Profit.
