Then we must ban Union political activity as well.......
“Even if the Amendment process falls short”, I’ll just enact it by Executive Order.
I know that corporations under settled law have the same rights as individuals in many regards, but I'm wondering if that's true of Union organizations?
Here's an alternative: Since government workers are more than mere employees, and their jobs are needed for fulfillment of the government's role, perhaps we could get a constitutional amendment to ban the formation of government unions, and ban all unions from participating in the political process as organized groups.
It'll never happen, but think about the ramifications if it did?
Obama never looks at the unintended consequences of his actions, so if he wants to talk about Consitutional Amendments, here's one for him:
Any government official elected to the Presidency, Vice Presidency, Senate, or House of Representatives who is deemed to have violated his oath of office, shall be removed from office immediately upon being deemed to have done so. In the case of the Presidency, the trial shall be conducted in the House of Representatives, with a simple majority of a quorum of at least 75% of the membership of the House present and voting, required to convict.
Actually, the same law that was struck down by the Citizens United ruling had the same restrictions on contributions by labor unions as by corporations.
