Fox News's Juan Williams Calls Ann Romney a 'Corporate Wife'

(CNSNews.com) - As part of its Tuesday night convention coverage, Fox News assembled a panel of political analysts to discuss Ann Romney's speech. Charles Krauthammer called it a "triumph," and Brit Hume said it was "the single most effective political speech I’ve ever heard given by a political wife."

But their fellow panelist Juan Williams -- a Democrat -- panned Mrs. Romney's effort to connect with women, describing her as a "corporate wife" whose claim to understand the struggles of American women fell flat.

"Ann Romney ... looked to me like a corporate wife. The stories she told about struggles — eh! It's hard for me to believe. I mean, she's a very rich woman, and I know that, and America knows that."

Maybe he’s trying to get his job back at PBS.

Juan’s and a liberal’s code for saying traditional marriage is outdated. Wonder if he would have called Barney Frank’s “wife” a corporate wife.

Does that make Juan a corporate negro? Just wondering, ...because he sticks to the Democrat script really well, like a good corporate player.

All these Obamabots are realizing their master is about to be fired, and they have gone into militant mode.

I loved the simple, elegant dress in the bright red. Blondes often don't look good in that color, but she pulled it off. I'm so tired of the boob belts and too-tight stuff off the Obama fashion era.

Maybe we'll have to have a fashion thread about here.

I heard it live. Didn't bother me much. While I disagree with Juan, I really don't see why everybody on both sides has to faint whenever somebody lets a little prejudice slip through or says something "off color".

I sure wish we lived in a country where we didn't have to be terrified that any little slip up in our dialog or any expression of our true opinions or feelings could be cause for torches and pitchforks.

Also, I thought Mrs. Romney's speech was great.

I’d like to see Juan raise 5 boys.

Your use of the word "boys" in reference to imaginary male offspring fathered by Juan Williams is both racist and offensive. /s

He’s probably just parroting the Democrat talking points regarding Mrs. Romney. We knew that they’d pull something like that, so just ignore him and let’s go on and win the election. Mrs. Romney is a class act and therefore, the dems have to find some way to trash her. Unfortunately for them, it’s all going to backfire on them.

“She looks like a woman whose husband takes care of her.”

Let’s see what the Bible (God’s Blueprint for Living) says. . . I think Juan needs to go back to Sunday School for a refresher.

Paul presents another responsibility of husbands in I Timothy 5:8 - “But if any provide not for his own, especially for those of his own household, he hath denied the faith and is worse than an infidel”

Besides, it will be more than refreshing not to have to look at arm pits, biceps, and triceps in the White House.

I don’t understand the problem of being a corporate wife.

It’s certainly a better life position than being a professional negro

God forbid women have a husbands who take care of them!

Haven’t we all learned from “The Life of Julia” - that is the government’s job!

Comment shows true ignorance, money doesn’t make problems go away, it actually causes more headaches, in my opinion. We are all human and struggle with problems.

All I can say is that she made me feel proud again to be an American and a Republican. I think she would be a good president, certainly a much better president than Zero.

The more I see and hear of R&R the more I feel that all is not lost. I hope this is not all just a smoke screen and that these people mean what they say. Just how in the world do you know until they are elected? Even Ryan has said and done things I wish he wouldn’t have. I guess nobody is perfect but I sure want them to be perfect. I will keep my fingers crossed and be on my knees a lot. Wouldn’t it be nice if R&R sought the Help of The Lord, is there any possibility that they do? I hope so.

Yeah, rich people don't have struggles. They are immune to life's difficulties. Their lives are all unicorns and rainbows. They never get sick, they never have personal conflicts, their relationships are practically perfect in every way, they always achieve their goals, they never experience disappointments, frustrations, heartache, humiliations, etc. etc. etc.

In other words, money lifts people above life itself, solving all problems and making everything wonderful and without blemish.

Okay, I'm done thinking like a Democrat.

Thanks for posting that verse. It’s an important one. Thanks to the feminist movement, that verse has become obsolete. It’s a shame.

Juan should make the move to MSNBC. He and Mr. Maddow would make a great couple.

Oh, and rich people never in their lives experienced hardship or struggle. Rich people never had to struggle to attain wealth, it was just handed to them, of course, because that’s how it works in America, right Juan?
