Rick Santorum evoked the homespun values of hard work, education and family in his speech to the Republican National Convention on Tuesday night, but his math needs improvement.
The former Pennsylvania senator and runner-up in this year's GOP race criticized President Barack Obama during his convention speech for what he called a belief "in government handouts and dependency."
In addition to repeating a debunked claim that Obama rolled back work requirements for welfare recipients, Santorum said that under the Obama administration, "the dream of freedom and opportunity has become a nightmare of dependence, with almost half of America receiving some sort of government assistance."

No wonder that network is dying. One suspects it is primarily of fecal poisoning.
Actually, the Obama Executive Order on welfare/work broadened the list...to include at-home fingernail paring, weight reduction, self-improvement classes, etc. All are non-paying activities. Still no income, just dependence on my taxpayer dollars to hang around.
As the say opinions are like anuses-everybody has one-this one however, is looking for a body. Obama has given CNN and the rest of the MSM STDs which are affecting their brains.
His best line, IMHO in a very good speech; one of the best last night.
Recommend everyone watch it.
It’s a fascist journalist trick; if someone makes a statement that exposes your untenable position, you simply refer to the statement of fact as a “claim” which has been “debunked”.
And the propaganda machine rolls on. But now, thanks to alternative media, it’s leaking oil and spewing black smoke :)
WOW! That will go down in history as one profound statement!!! GO SANTORUM!!! I was unable to watch the convention last night and just catching up on some of the events.
thank you for posting this statement.
