The NO WMD line was an absurdity tailored for the minds of 15-21 year olds. Which happens to the mental capacity level for most leftist. The UN spent years destroying tons of WMD in Iraq. So there were tons of WMD in Iraq. The question was, why was there WMD that Saddam admitted having, that the UN had not documented as being destroyed. The main question is, was Saddam lying or not ? Which is immaterial to the fact that we had to assume he was not lying.
Obama/Hillary apparently assumed that intelligent analysts from all over the world were lying when they claimed Assad had the most advanced and largest active chemical WMD munitions in the world (most of the world has stopped developing the weapons). So Obama/Hillary proceeded to destabilize the Assad regime assuming he did not have the WMD and that he would not dare use them even if he did have them. That was one of the worse foreign policy moves ever made in US history.
