Why should God help this nation when we have refused to do II Chronicles 7:14 and sat on our hands while God was tossed out of our culture?

I believe God is the same yesterday, today and even forever.

I do not for a moment think He is going to give a Holy-Spirit imbued people who have let their faith go lukewarm until it only has the form of religion, be given a pass on judgment when He brought Ancient Israel to ruin for far less than what we ourselves have allowed this culture to become.

We’re suffering a lack of leadership and decent statesmen because of our national and collective sins. It’s like the period of evil Judges in the bible - when the people had become so corrupt, no decent leader could be found to save them from woe after woe.

The Founders themselves gave us plenty of warnings that they understood from Scripture about what would happen to us should we ever betray our principles for expedience.

We’re living the curses of Deuteronomy 28. God does not change, even if we people think we can change God to fit our sensibilities and twist scripture to make ourselves feel good because we only want to hear smooth and easy things.

If we wanted to truly fix this country - then doing it politically is bass backwards. A repentant people who LIVE what they claim allegiance to, will have leaders who reflect their principles. Sadly, in a nation of Godless hedonism, such evil often trumps the righteous.

In addition, a large majority of Christians in America today do not want to preach the Gospel because they think it is offensive. None of them are willing to risk labels and hatred and persecution if it involves doing more than going to a chicken stand and buying sandwiches.

They’ll shill for a politician, but not for Christ or biblical principles and will sit silent in the face of accusation they are ‘extremists’ or deny that their faith does indeed define them.

And that is how we have arrived where we are now at as a nation.
