RUSH: See, I understand it, but then on the other hand I don't understand. They had a unified convention. Everybody showing up in Tampa was unified, get rid of Obama, let's turn this country around, and now, whoever -- Romney, the party, the RNC -- whoever's doing it started this rules fight that's gonna tear everything apart. Like I say, on the one hand I understand it. On the other hand, it doesn't make any sense. Not that I agree.
I know what they're trying to do, folks. And if you're just joining us, I don't have time to replay or redo the whole first half hour of the program. Essentially, the establishment Republicans, the RNC, the GOP, the Romney campaign, want to change the rules of delegate selection. They want the presidential nominee in future years to be able to choose the actual delegates to the convention so that he owns them, so they do what he wants. And what it really is is an effort to eliminate grassroots people from the Republican convention. That's really what this is all about. What that means is that the party has decided it doesn't want to have to put up with a bunch of conservatives showing up, affecting the platform and all the other things that happen at the convention, including influencing the party.

I’ve had this nagging thought in the back of my head for a while now - that the GOP is not interested in winning an election. Their candidates - Dole, Bush, McLame and now Romney have all been one step away from blowing the election. Bush was an accomplished debator, yet look at his performance vs. Kerry in the debates.
If the GOP doesn’t want Conservatives, fine. This is exactly what happened to the Whigs. And history has a way of repeating itself. They won’t get my money and Romney doesn’t get my vote. You see, principles DO matter.
I just said that. A third party helps the Democrats. I just said that. Our democracy is gone already.
There will be no third party this cycle that amounts to anything. We have no options in the Republican Party. What magic would you suggest that un-does what was done today?
More dreams of taking care of everything “later”, “holding their feet to the fire” AFTER the election. LOL! We sure showed them at convention today, didn’t we?
You make good points
I though think the ticket is the way it should be
Romney does have a ton of real life experience managing large enough businesses that he can apply some of that to the gov’t
plus I think he will know the right people from the private sector to help.

Probably. These guys are giving Obama much more than he ever imagined he would get from them.
I say we get mittens elected on Nov 6, then on Nov 7 start the creation of a new party the is everything the GOP is not. Based on the founding principles-no rinos allowed.

What the Ben Ginsburg/Romney/GOP are doing only helps Obama - DON'T blame the voter! Stick w/facts!

Todd Akin for President!
Step 1: Vote for Romney and pack the house and senate with as many true conservatives as possible.
Step 2: Eject the commies and radicals from every corner of Washington
Step 3: Form a new conservative party and finish the job.
“Dont worry, theyll blame Ron Paul, Todd Akin, and when they lose, Paul Ryan.”
Maybe Obama’s supposed to win, then he can let it all hang out and the Republicans can point the finger at him while having their hands out behind their backs. The scapegoat.
I agree, hold the nose, vote Romney and then keep up the fighting spirit and start a completely different party the day after the election.
I’m voting to get rid of Obama, and after the election ending my 30 year association with the GOP.
Exactly right. They (gop-e) will always blame someone else for their mistakes.
If Palin were to run on a third party ticket and the polls show the republicans gettin’ whipped, I believe they would ask their supporters to vote for obama.
It’s the same with the congress. If a third of them were a third party the republicans would caucus with the democrats.
Hopefully the hatred of O will supersede this stupidity.
The left wing of the GOP doesn’t hate Obama.
Why should we conservatives have to break away?
Because the GOP has always been a left leaning party. A coalition of conservatives has tried to make it a conservative party after the Democrats went hard left, but we haven’t suceeded.
