Whoever opened the bag could have taken something of value and it would be gone. I would assume most bags are being opened anyway given the extreme security measures being taken these days.

I would assume most bags are being opened anyway given the extreme security measures being taken these days. I've always assumed that all bags are opened because baggage handlers are looking for stuff to steal. Most are union scum.
