>I think you people are in the wrong party.
>Republicans have always had traditional values.
Agreed, but expecting the mother to die to save an unborn child is not a traditional value that needs enforced by law.
Neither is forcing a rape victim to carry a rapists child.
It's time for federal politicians to get out of the murder business and give the issue back to the states.
The country will continue to fail as long as we continue to kill babies.
No one in government says this. Not even Henry Hyde said this. No one. The phrase "the mother's health" is an infinitely expandable rubric, and that is why pro-lifers do not like it much. I've never heard anyone in government say that a mother must die or even risk dying to save the baby's life. I don't where you got this from.

I endorse what you say. However, there are such "social ideologues" on FR that don't. I was on a thread recently with one and I posed this situation. Say that there is an 11-year-old girl who is raped and impregnated. Since it is biologically possible (I think) for a child that age to carry a pregnancy to term, should not she be offered an abortion? My correspondent said "No!"
What do you say to such people? I don't know.
