Time to put this behind and support him.
“Yesterday we began reminding folks of Akin’s solidly conservative voting record and encouraging the republican talking heads to walk back the attacks before catching too much egg on their faces. Today, it seems, that has begun. I for one am grateful. I thank them for listening. The chances of Missouri replacing McCaskill are far better sticking with Akin than threading needles to get withdrawals and court orders and a well-known viable replacements. It’s just common sense.”
Let’s wait and see how the next two polling cycles go.
If we start to see Akin climbing again — even if the climb is a slow one — and if at the same time we STILL do not see McCaskill “breaking 50”, then I think that he still has a chance to win.
Granted, it seems like an uphill climb that is near-impossible at this point (if we are to believe the press and the GOP-e).
But if Akin pulls this off, there is going to be a lot of mud on a lot of peoples’ faces. And none of it on Mr. Akin....
