Now is the time for courage (Akin, abortion)
WND ^ | August 22, 2012 | Janet Porter

Exclusive: Janet Porter joins pro-life leaders as they stand with Rep. Todd Akin

Want to know why the Republican Party is in such trouble? I believe it comes down to one word: courage.

When Democrats misspeak, we make them vice president. When Republicans misspeak, Republicans are the first in line to throw them under the bus.

When Rep. Todd Akin stood for protecting all innocent human life in a recent interview, he used a word with more than one meaning. He used the word “legitimate” before the word “rape” to mean “real,” “forcible,” a tragic event that “really took place.” Anyone who doesn’t think false claims of rape can be made should check with Norma McCorvey, the “Roe” of Roe v. Wade. The infamous abortion case, based on her false rape claim, has resulted in the deaths of 55 million innocent human lives.

But because “legitimate” could also modify the word rape, some in the Republican Party are practically writing Willie Horton ads about it, pretending that the congressman is “pro-rape” and wants to let rapists out on furlough. This “interpretation” of the congressman’s words doesn’t resemble reality, and everyone knows it.

If Republicans love their country, they will quit using fiction to shoot their own and focus on the real enemies of life: Democrats Claire McCaskill and Barack Obama, who stand for legally sucking the brains out of half-born babies in a procedure called partial-birth abortion.

In America, we shouldn’t kill people for the crimes of their father. And in politics, we shouldn’t kill statesmen for a badly worded sound bite.

Thankfully, there are men and women of courage who stand with Rep. Akin, beginning with the founder of National and International Right to Life, Dr. Jack Willke, who said:

“Congressman Todd Akin remains a strong and courageous

Rats are desperate to keep the discussion away from Hussein. They planned the “Pubbies hate women” meme weeks ago. Akin is a side show that will flame out, like Romney's tax returns, his car-top dog carrier . . .

the most morally evil people are also the ones who hold Conservatives to the highest standards?

Funny how Scott Brown didn't waste any time running out to trash Akin then turns around and announces that he himself is pro abortion.

Scott Brown presses Republicans to be ‘more inclusive’ on abortion

Brown blasts back: I am a pro-choice Republican

To make matters worse is the number of FReepers who think abortion is fine if it means winning.

the 25% figure is a NOW stat. If that many college going women were raped, then everyone in this country would know at least one person that was raped, and be related to or conceived by a rape victim. I highly doubt the veracity of the claims. The “studies” that the stats come from (I believe it is one study sponsored by NOW where the claim was made and keeps getting repeated in other so called studies) call a lot of things rape in that are entirely consensual, many of them not involving penetration of any sort either.

:D ^^

On a serious note though, we have people running around saying replace our candidate with a real conservative while at the exact same time screaming to the top of their lungs to get a real conservative out of Missoura’s senate race.

I have never in my life seen people behave so stupidly.

All I can say is that psy ops, psychological warfare and mind control WORK.

People need to wake up and fast, they are being played like fiddles in the hands of Charlie Daniels.

“The guy is a fool who has the potential to take down the entire party.”

If you are right, it deserves to be taken down. What a bunch of spineless bus drivers.

DING, DING, DING, we have a winner.

“Alas, I read his statement over and over and without the screaming from the press and (moderate) republicans I just can't see why there is such ado because of it.
The guy has a VERY impressive voting record as a conservative.”

EXACTLY! What is the big deal? The dems screamed, PRETENDING to be offended, and Republicans are so SCARED and have no balls, they immediately jumped on the liberals band wagon. In the progressives back rooms they are laughing uncontrollably at what gullible dupes, fools, and saps we are.

We are Charlie Brown and the Dems are Lucy who keeps on getting us to try and kick that football over and over again as she pulls it away over and over again. We just keep falling for their tricks.

Paul Ryan, for one.

Face it, Romney is a terrible candidate. As much as the hacks like yourself may try to shift blame, a Romney loss will be quarely on Romney’s head, and his backers by extension.

Should of dumped the cowardly Repub Party a long time ago, it’s nothing but a bunch of cowardly pricks.

Amen

We on the Right comprise the cowardly wing of the political spectrum.

The Marines have a motto, “Leave no man behind”. Many a Marine has been killed retrieving their wounded or dead comrades. From Parris Island to the sands of Iraq and Afghanistan that motto is emblazoned on every Marines heart. The new motto of the Right is “If you say something we deem as stupid, we WILL leave you behind”.

Michael Connelly’s character Harry Bosch has a simple motto too, “Either everyone counts or no one counts”. A new motto of the Right is, “We’ll decide if you count, and if you say something we deem as stupid, you DON’T count”.

Now the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren of the hero’s of Bastogne, the Chosin Reservoir, the A Shau Valley and Desert Storm quake in fear over a senatorial candidate misspoken comment over “legitimate” rape. We worry about comments regarding abortion more than we are concerned about the 48-58 million abortions that have occurred in this country since Roe V. Wade.

All those wishing for Akin to drop out are missing what is going to happen. The moment the first Republican called for Akin to drop out the fate was sealed of who ever runs in that spot. Doesn’t make a frost bit hill of beans difference if Akin was replaced on day one or stays till the bitter end. The moment that a majority of folks on the Right agree with the folks on the Left it is game over. The Left wins that game every time.

For those of you who sneer at Akin’s belief that God called him to run for the Senate, who are you to decide who God calls and the purposes that He calls them? You need to worry about what God has called you to do. And I doubt that God has called anyone to second guess what God is doing in anyone else’s life. If indeed Akin is that tuned to God, God will reveal to him if and when he should withdraw.

For the Christians out there (Agnostics and Atheists this does not apply to you), if you tremble at the thought of what a holy and just God will do to this nation for killing 58 million of His children, get behind the people who would work to end this slaughter.

When someone reminds you of Akin, remind them nobody died in the back seat of his car, he didn't rape any one and he never ran a prostitution ring out of his garage. Close ranks around Akins and stop giving the left more talking points.

Why?

I mean, we’re already broaching the subject that a loser who doesn’t really belong on a ticket can be removed, even if he wins a primary, so why not apply this to Romney?

“when you insinuate that women have a magic vagina fairy that prevents them from becoming pregnant,”

“magic vagina fairy” ? I didn't hear him say that!

Here is his EXACT quote:
“It seems to me, from what I understand from doctors, that’s really rare,” Akin told KTVI-TV. “If it’s a legitimate rape, *****the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down*****..”

You quoted him as saying: “The woman's body has a way to shut that whole thing down.”

As in the Zimmerman case, words mean things.

He said FEMALE, a most general, technical term.

You said WOMAN, far more personal.

He said “ways”,

you said “*A* way”.

He said “TRY” to to shut that whole thing down”

You said “to shut that whole thing down” leaving out “TRY”.

Since you have changed his words and definitely have misrepresented his meaning, it's no wonder you could come up with “magic vagina fairy”. Too bad it's not factual. Just a fairy tale you made up.

“Hey expert, tell me chapter and verse from MO statutes, what the GOP options are if Akin announced that he was dropping out of the race today.”
***********************************************************
I’d recommend starting with google.com. It should be pretty easy to do your own research.

But you know what, I’d be willing to be that the Missouri Republicans have this all researched and have everything they (absent a few “fill in the blanks” in their legal documents) need to IMMEDIATELY take the appropriate action when Akin recovers his sanity and submits hiw withdrawal paperwork.

So that is the process you think should be followed to get a candidate on the ballot to beat McCaskill?

If so, dream on. Akin is the candidate we have and will have into the election. I support Akin, so should you and every Freeper.
*******************************************************************
“....so should....every Freeper”? I suspect that the great majority of Freepers want to defeat McCaskill. The ONLY way that is going to happen this November is to have someone other than Akin on the ballot.

By the way, you mentioned that you just donated to the Akin campaign. I’m not sure I really have 100% belief in the truthfulness of that statement. But if you really did, can you tell me the names of any stocks that you recently have bought and hold? I need a car for one of my kids about to head off to college and want to “short” your choice of investments so I can have the needed gains to get the car.
