In the age of U-toob I never take the chance (not that I haven’t been tempted a time or two).
I’ve worked on sign campaigns for the last four election cycles. Because you’re out in the same environment as your opponents the chance of getting caught - just like these two broads did - is increased.
In 2010 I was working on a campaign to unseat a state senator. We had identified all the “good” spots to place signs and encountered the inevitable “signage warz” that happen when you plant a sign and your opponent puts one up immediately in front of it (or just rips yours down and puts theirs up).
In one location passersby had torn down ALL of them regardless of party and we had just arrived to set ours back up when the senator herself (along with her husband) stormed into the parking lot and accused us of doing the damage. Fortunately I had photo-documented the scene showing everybody’s signs down - including ours - and invited the senator to kiss my ass.
Ultimately we documented HER HUSBAND damaging signs and won the election.
someone planting steel wire signs into the public highway shoulder lawn is...in my opinion...LITTERING.
I just clean up after the miscreants.
