As if Akin was proposing some serious policy initiative that would put our country in further trouble; as if he takes a casual stand on rape of any kind. I'm witnessing the legitimate rape of common sense and logic on this thread; folks getting their semantic panties in a twist over one ill-chosen word.

Happy to see Todd Akin not afraid to concede principle out of fear or political expedience. Wish it happened more often. But with republicans like the spineless twits showing up on this thread, he certainly doesn't need enemies. Hopefully the people of the great state of Missouri have more sense and principle than is on display here.

Taking big bucks from democrats to finance his campaign doesn't show much principle.

He would have been politically beholden to the hands that fed him.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but I'm curious; Akin also seems oblivious to the fact that it's the "woman's body has ways" quote that has damned him.

He probably wouldn't even have made the local news for the "legitimate rape" line.
