I don't think it's Barack personally- I think he hates being President and all the hassle that goes with it. I think he likes the lifestyle (free vacations, golf outings, free dinners at the finest restaurants, etc.). However, it's his handlers and the Democrats in Congress that want him to desperately cling to power, and THEY'LL be the ones that try something if something's actually done.

To tell the truth, the "won't let go of his power" thing has been around for a long time. Bedwetting flagburners were claiming that Ronald Reagan wouldn't leave peacefully.

I don't recall the Clinton, or Reagan, administrations stocking up on so much serious ammo.
