DOD releases names of Schofield soldiers killed in Afghanistan

The Department of Defense released the names of the Black Hawk helicopter crew from Schofield Barracks in Hawaii who were killed Thursday in a crash in southern Afghanistan.

Fine human beings that should have died toothless old men with thirty grandkids. A damn waste for America, and little good for Afghanistan. I cannot imagine the anguish of losing a child in a war everyone forgot before it even ended.

My husband's grandfather was stationed at Schofield Barracks a 27yo husband and father. He died in a freak accident. We have never thought it was a waste.
