The bridge he jumped off was some bridge. He wasn’t fooling around.

Prayers for his children.

Prayers for his kids and family. I guess he had enough of Jerry Brown’s version on California.

What a waste. So sad that he believed no one could help him with whatever problem he had.

Witnesses saw ‘Top Gun’ director Tony Scott jump off bridge, police say

August 19, 2012 |  9:46 pm

Witnesses told police that Tony Scott got out of his Toyota Prius on the Vicent Thomas Bridge on Sunday, scaled an 8- to 10-foot fence and jumped without any hesitation, law enforcement sources said.

Scott jumped off the bridge at about 12:30 p.m. Sunday....

Wonder if he got bad news on a disease. True Romance was his best by far.

The Last Boy Scout is one of my all time favorites. They don’t make them that way anymore. RIP to one of the best.

Law enforcement sources said several witnesses saw Scott, the brother of director Ridley Scott, climb over a fence on the bridge and jump off.

No, they saw someone who looked like him.

This whole thing smells.

A 68 year old man climbs an 8-10 foot high fence in front of people and jumps of an incredibly high bridge?

WAY wrong age for such a stunt!

It's just like a movie script!

And the title of the movie? "I committed suicide - really, promise, everyone saw it, you can't say it didn't happen - dramatically and in Technicolor!"

Bull. I say he's in Tahiti, free from his family and financial obligations, sitting on a yacht.

Do not go gentle into that still night. Dylan Thomas.

I do not want to die between the sheets. Ambrose Bierce.

Those such as Mr. Scott who live their lives creating drama, often want to leave their this life with the same drama.

I cannot nor I shall not pass judgment on him.

That said it well may be a more noble death to jump off a bridge, than to have your fate decided by one Barry’s death panels.

If I drove a Prius, I would also want to jump off a bridge.

Suicide is so hard to understand and leaves such destruction behind. My DIL’s father killed himself a few weeks ago. It is heartbreaking to see the family trying to understand and deal with it! Apparently, he started on a new drug for tremors and three days later, he killed himself. Turns out suicide is one of the side effects of that drug. My DIL wants to “explore” this once she is over the shock and has finished probate. Things he left behind indicate that it was almost a spur-of-the-moment decision...SO sad! His timing couldn’t have been worse either. He did it on the anniversary of my baby grandson’s death and was buried on the day my other grandson’s birthday! That alone indicates he wasn’t thinking normally.

It's like a fellow I once knew in El Paso. One day... he just took all his clothes off and jumped in a mess of cactus. I asked him that same question, "Why?"

And... ?

He said, "It seemed... to be a good idea at the time."
