To recap, government is driving up the cost of food, animal feed and gasoline, and Obama's solution is to drive up meat prices as well. Obama could eliminate the entire problem overnight and reduce carbon emissions were he to waive the ethanol mandate in a time of drought. Instead, he is creating a new spending program to mollify livestock producers, who, were it not for the ethanol mandate, would be able to make an honest living without his help.

Ethanol is food, misapplied to an inefficient use.
If these quantities were returned to the food supply, more starving would survive and thrive.
But, we know how bad PEOPLE are for the planet, so let’s not have anymore of THAT!

Actually what they are doing is buying up Livestock to butcher now so there will be enough corn to make it thru to Next year’s harvest because this years is so poor. All food prices are going to go up. However, chicken, pork and beef will skyrocket as well as dairy products.
What freaking genious didn’t see this comming when you sign legislation requiring 10+ % of your corn to be used in making biofuel. Oh no, we’ve never had droughts in North America before. /s
Burn commies instead of corn!
It is not 10% of our corn, it is 10% of our fuel.
The percentage of corn to fuel ethanol is now at 49% of the crop according to the USDA.

Question: Where does Romney stand on ethanol?
I wasn't sure, but it seems to depends on which way the wind blows..
“A federal appeals court Friday threw out a challenge by automakers and other groups to a new fuel with a higher blend of ethanol that could damage engines.
The U.S. Court of Appeals in a 2-1 decision rejected a suit brought by Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, Global Automakers, the Grocery Manufacturers Association, the oil industry and other groups that sought to overturn the Enviromental Protection Agency’s approval of E15 -a fuel that includes 15 percent ethanol.”
