I will never get this faux controversy. My neighbor had a similar roof cage, and when they went on a trip the dog would climb onto the roof of their car, and whimper until they let him in. He LOVED that thing.

Seamus, however, did not enjoy this particular ride.
The incident: dog excrement found on the roof and windows of the Romney station wagon. How it got there: Romney strapped a dog carrier — with the family dog Seamus, an Irish Setter, in it — to the roof of the family station wagon for a twelve hour drive from Boston to Ontario, which the family apparently completed, despite Seamus's rather visceral protest. Evidently, Romney did pull over and hose off the dog, and cage, and car, but then put Seamus right back into the cage. If anything it shows Romney's disconnect to discomfort. Mitt's allowance of $50 abortions through Romneycare bothers me a whole lot more, but being a dog lover, I really like this guy's site.
