Woman Becomes First Openly Gay General
The New York Times ^ | 8/12/2012 | Matthew L. Wald

Posted on 08/13/2012 7:44:06 AM PDT by darrellmaurina

WASHINGTON — An Army officer being promoted to brigadier general openly acknowledged her homosexuality on Friday by having her wife pin her star to her uniform, thus becoming the first openly gay officer of flag rank in the United States military.

The officer, Brig. Gen. Tammy S. Smith, 49, a 26-year veteran of the Army, was promoted in a ceremony at the women’s memorial at Arlington National Cemetery. The star was affixed by Tracey Hepner, who was a co-founder last year of the Military Partners and Families Coalition, which “provides support, resources, education and advocacy for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender military partners and their families,” according to its Web site.

The couple married in March 2011 in the District of Columbia.

Ping requested to Wagglebee’s homosexual agenda list.

Obviously this as been going on for a long time — BG Smith’s “wife” left the Army way back in 1986 and “said she left the Army because of the strains of maintaining a secret lesbian relationship.”

Congrats to her! Its good to see a person rise to their ultimate potential by being promoted amongst her peers.

Its NOT so great for her to rub America’s nose in her sexual orientation, which should be PRIVATE in all manners of speaking AND action! IMO.

Okay, so this GENERAL lied through the early part of her career, as before Clinton’s “Don’t tell ...” policy, recruits were most certainly asked.

Doesn’t sound like the makings of a general to me.

There is nothing to congratulate.

She is an exhibit of PC promotion over qualifications. She has no place in the military. She lied AND she compromised national security by allowing her lie to leave her exposed to being blackmailed.

She is just another sick sex fetishist that compromised the military same as those in abugrab had their little sex fetish cult.

My question is will Mitt Romney do anything to stop the spread of Homosexualism in the military?

I’m pretty sure the answer is no. IF he won’t, then how is he an improvement on Obama? We still have to now “tolerate” open homosexuality in military....even with Romney.

The good General is a liar.

She entered the military in 1976 (West Point)...before ‘Don’t Ask/Don’t Tell’....which means the Army ‘Asked’. She obviously said ‘no, I’m not gay’.

In this era, she would have also been asked about gay sexual encounters, in order to get her security clearance....and lied on that paperwork.

The article says she left the Army in 1986...’because of the strains of maintaining a secret lesbian relationship’...in other words, she was violating UCMJ on a daily basis.

I know we’re supposed to be tolerant and holding hands, now; but, should she really be rewarded for her lack of integrity?

The uS has never been a “Christian country.” It was not like ancient Isreal which had an express convenant with the Creator. But we rose to a unique position in all of human history due in large part to implementation of the Christian ethics and values on which democracy and freedom depend. Those who understand that, also understand that the liberals have won, and this country now has a pagan worldview. As such, it is toast.

If she thinks she's married she better think again, but she's lived a big lie this long so why quit now. I have no respect for this woman at all.

First because our service men need devine protection and second because at least in her choice of sexual orientation she is a horrible role model.

“An Army officer being promoted to brigadier general openly acknowledged her homosexuality on Friday by having her wife pin her star”

Orwellian double-speak from the High Priesthood of American Liberal Journalism. Repeat the lie enough to make people think its an accuracy.

I suspected this woman in the Abu Ghraib scandal as a lesbian.

Certainly at least one other woman in the case was.

Sabrina Harman ("On her first night at the prison, Specialist Sabrina Harman, a twenty-six-year-old M.P. from Virginia, wrote a letter home to the woman she called her wife")

Yet according to wiki, Janis Karpenski married a man.

Have to wonder how much the Abu scandal may have been generated by fifth columnists just like the wikileaker faggot who stole 25,000 documents because he hated the military's opposition to homosexuals openly serving in the ranks.

There was at least one turncoat in the British military who posed for photos urinating on a man and then circulating them to press as "evidence" of "torture" of "prisoners in Iraq".

"But why would they throw away their career to do such a thing?" Ask the Islamists in the ranks like Sgt. Akbar who lobbed a grenade in an officers' tent, killing/injuring a dozen officers. Ask Nadil Hasan who gunned down several dozen people at Ft. Hood.
