FORT HOOD A string of witnesses in an evidentiary hearing identified Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan as the triggerman at a Fort Hood deployment center that left 45 dead and injured.
As his trial nears almost three years later, few here argue over his guilt. They wonder why a psychiatrist would gun down fellow soldiers.
Rep. John Carter, R-Round Rock can explain it. He calls Hasan a domestic terrorist, something prosecutors have never claimed, and says those avoiding the term are indulging in political correctness.
Believe me, my friend, if somebody had jumped up and said, Praise God and Jesus Christ!' and started shooting, he said, the headline would have said, Christian right-wing zealot kills soldiers.'
Prosecutors last week inched closer to branding Hasan a terrorist. They sought to put terrorism consultant Evan Kohlmann on a list of witnesses when Hasan's capital murder trial starts next Monday.

The debate over why the attack occurred might not be resolved even after a trial expected to run more than two months. But one statement Hasan made to Awlaki hints at his most cherished life goal.
Allah .... lifted the veil from my eyes about 8-9 years ago, and I have been striving for Jannat Firdaus ever since, he said, referring to the Islamic afterlife's Garden of Paradise. I hope, Inshallah, my endeavor will be realized.

Since the early 80’s any member of the Armed Forces killed or injured by an act of terrorism has been awarded the Purple Heart. Were any of the soldiers killed or wounded in this attack awarded the Purple Heart?

No, dammit, those deploying SOLDIERS headed for a COMBAT theater but gunned down by a JIHADI muslim terrorist DIDN’T receive the Purple Heart!!
Because Ocrumbo and his P.C. Army chief called it “workplace violence”, that’s why!
GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!
):^(
Glad to hear Round Rock has a leader.
They pushed it out beyond the election for a reason. Of course he’s an Islamic terrorist, and yes, he was a member of Obama’s transition team as well.
Nobody is drawing those conclusions either, but there was no way in hell this guy was going to trial before November 2012, ever.
Beyond 2012, if Obama wins, they’ll find a way to get him off too. Believe it.
Regarding the question of whether or not Hasan is a domestic terrorist or not: Does he advocate for constitutional freedom and is he a card carrying member of the Tea Party calling for a small government?
He is not! He can’t be a domestic terrorist! The defense should present Homeland inSecurity’s own official desription of “domestic terrorists” to dismiss the prosecutor’s case against this victim of American society!
