Four years ago some FReepers were following a private plane flying from Alaska to Ohio (they noted the plane's tail number, if I remember correctly). Because of that information, several of us suspected McCain's VP pick would be Gov. Sarah Palin... several hours before she was announced in Dayton, Ohio.

There was great intrigue that night. It was fun to watch it play out. In a way it seems like a hundred years ago. So much has changed since then and unfortunately not for the better. Ryan is a great choice and will be a formidable candidate.
