Actually Tumeric itself as well as it’s theraputic componant Curcumin are very powerful in vitro but almost none of it gets absorbed when ingested, which has had researchers frustrated for decades. Something like 95% of it just passes through the digestive tract.

One lab has had interesting success with it though, IIRC they bind it to a choline molecule. It IS available commercially, it’s called Meriva. They claim 20X the absorption rate.

We gave it to our kitty last year, she had advanced lymphoma. It perked her up quite a bit, but we learned about it way to late for it to have saved her.

Google: Meriva + Curcumin. Much of the research will pop up.

Have they tried transdermal patches of this stuff?
