Speaking at a Women for Obama event in Denver, Colorado, President Obama touted free contraception offered to women by the Affordable Care Act. The president was introduced by contraception activist Sandra Fluke, who became the center of a controversy earlier this summer, after she spoke out against Catholic colleges that did not cover contraceptives.
Obama reminded the audience that because of his reforms, insurance plans were covering the full cost of contraceptives, which he said was crucial for womens health because it was used not only for family planning, but it prescribed by doctors to reduce the risk of ovarian cancer.
And its good for our health care system in general because we know that the overall cost of care is lower when women have access to contraception services, Obama added.
Obama explained that his administration worked with people who held strong religious views on contraception.
We worked with Catholic hospitals and universities to find a solution that protects both religious liberty and a womans health, Obama insisted. (But in fact, over 40 prominent Catholic organizations, including Notre Dame University is suing the Obama administration to block the HHS contraceptive mandate.)
The fact is that nearly 99 percent of women have relied on contraception at some point. Obama continued. And more than half of all women between the ages of 18-34 have struggled to afford it.
Were changing that, Obama proclaimed.
How many folks attended the event? 100,000, 50,000, !0,000, 5000, 500, or 50? What a farce?
We worked with Catholic hospitals and universities to find a solution that protects both religious liberty and a womans health, Obama insisted
............................................................Is there anyone on this planet who doesn’t know that is an outright lie?
LOL! See #9!
“Hi. I’m Barack Obama. I’m from the government and I’m here to Fluke you.”
‘The fact is that nearly 99 percent of women have relied on contraception at some point.’ Obama continued. ‘And more than half of all women between the ages of 18-34 have struggled to afford it.’
Let’s not forget that five out of four statistics citations are made up!
Will Monica intoduce Bill at the convention?
Dems hate a lot but babies really give them heartburn. Burn, baby, burn indeed.
Merely another of a continuing series of attempts to remove the focus from the economy. Conservatives would do well not to get sucked up into these diversions.
estimated by fire officials at 4,000 people.
Peanuts. Obummer needs to bring back the marble columns.
Sandra Fluke? Isn’t that the STD poster child who indiscriminately screws so many men that she needs several thousands of dollars in rubber money?
Perfect companion for Obama, who screws Americans over so bad that he needs TRILLIONS of dollars to pay off his supporters.
Fluke gets off her back long enough to campaign for Obamah?
