Wow. We were just there yesterday.
One never knows.
It was sad enough seeing all the soldiers wheeling around, missing arms and legs — young, handsome guys for whom life hasn’t even started yet ...broke my HEART. We owe them such a debt.
Has anybody actually made good on a bomb threat? Of course, it makes sense that nobody wants to be the first and have to live with the fact that they received the threat and did nothing.
There have been people/groups who do warn others about bombs they have placed. Can’t think of any US examples off-hand, but IIRC, there have been some high-profile case(s) in the past.
A few months ago I received a call from Europe. My son had been in a non-military related accident and was in an Italian Hospital. I flew over, traveled to Germany with him and then back to Walter Reed Bethesda. His condition worked out well and he is now back on duty. The doctors and staff were superb at all the places we went to.
At Landstuhl Hospital Germany my son was in ICU but I was heart broken seeing the wounds these guys had who had just been brought in from Afghanistan. Later at Bethesda, I saw many walking on artificial legs and seemingly they were doing fine.
While coming back to the US, I got to talk at length with several wounded from Afghanistan, they told the similar stories of ambushes and IED bombs. Politicians like Obama who put and keep our troops in situations for terrorist attacks should be hung for treason.
