The skeptical poster was questioning the assertion that Akin was backed by the Tea Party during the primary. It was news to me, too. Todd Akin had the support of Mike Hukabee, but I got the impression that the Tea Party favorite was Sarah Steelman. Maybe it was because of the support Steelman got from Sarah Palin.
Akin does have a solid conservative record and I would think that the Tea Party will support him.
In any case, it sounds like you're lucky enough to have a state GOP that doesn't actively undermine conservative candidates!
