Obama Super PAC Effectively Accuses Romney of Killing Woman
JHPolitics.com ^ | 8/7/2012 | Justin Higgins

If you expected this election cycle to be tame, even for a little while longer, you were wrong. Priorities USA, the pro-Obama Super PAC which has the blessing of the President, is run by close confidantes of the President and is even going to receive fundraising help from Bill Clinton, is now running ad effectively accusing Romney of murder. The claim stems from a man losing his health insurance because a company Romney and Bain Capital tried to save eventually went under. The ad:

The ad centers around the story of Joe and Ranae Soptic of Kansas City, Missouri. Joe lost his job when GST Steel went under in 2001, after 8 years of Bain Capital attempting to save the dying steel plant. Romney's site addresses the claims regarding GST:

In 1993, GS Technologies, a company Bain Capital had invested in, purchased a struggling Kansas City steel plant from Armco. Prior to this investment, Armco announced plans to close the Kansas City plant if a buyer could not be found.

This investment – and $170 million in upgrades – kept the Kansas City plant competitive in a tough international market and saved the steel workers’ jobs for eight years.

In addition, the plant finally went under 2 years after Romney left Bain Capital to head up the Salt Lake City Olympics. Even if you believe the Obama campaign's fact-checked and disproven claim that Romney left Bain in 2002, it would be obscene to blame Romney and Bain when the investment was designed to save GST Steel.

JUST THINK WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENNED IF 0BAMA RAN BAIN CAPITAL!

HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL BE KILLED ON 0BAMA-CARE WHEN THE GOVERNMENT DENIES SERVICES TO THE ELDERLY AND CHRONICALLY ILL THROUGH THE IPAB RATIONING BOARD?

Well lookee here, Zippy:

It looks like you only post your own material and that you always excerpt it.

Explain if you can how this does not mean you are USING
Free Republic as an advertising tool for your “writing”.

Speak up, junior.

I do post my own writing, but I guess I am what you call a lurker. I read FR all the time, use it for story ideas, to stay up on the news. Almost all the time anything I’d like to “post” someone beats me to it. Is a big community after all. The only things I post are mine because that’s what I get to before other folks. I invite you to look at how often I write and see that I pick and choose what to share and do it seldomly.

This ridiculous ad will blow up in Obama's smug face. It's a lie and an absurd stretch that most halfway resonable people will find offensive; using a woman's death from cancer and attempting to blame Mitt Romney for it, when he was far removed from the situation and had absolutely no hand in causing it. The dates tell the story. The woman died FIVE YEARS after the plant closed and didn't know she HAD cancer until it was too late. This sad situation had nothing to do with Romney or Bain Capital because the plant had closed five years earlier, after Romney had left the company and following 8 years of Bain pumping money into the failing business that was on the verge of bankruptcy when Bain bought it.

The Obama camp assumes most voters are stupid and won't 'connect the dots' that show the rank dishonesty of this ad. I think they will see it for the lie that it is and reject the ad and the guy it was supposed to help, President Barack 'you didn't build that' Obama.

If you write it, it’s from your website, and you post it here, it’s courteous to post it in its entirety.

Excerpting under those conditions will get you labeled as a blog pimp.

Try giving us the whole thing next time.

SO in all the world-wide-web, the only things you can find to post are those that cause folks to give you blog hits and ad revenue?

Yeah.

Everybody buys that.

You’re a pimp, make your time.

It limited my post length to 300 characters, and I was at 374. The excerpt is only because it limited characters.

Humble, try not to assume the worst in folks. I primarily use FR as a SOURCE of news, and the sites I tend to read (Hot Air, Drudge, Townhall), most articles end up in the FR stream before I even get to them at the respective sites. You know that as well as the rest. I’d be more than happy to share my writing without links at all.

The excerpt is only because it limited characters.

No, it's because you clicked the excerpt button.

Quit lying. 'Fess up. You want some hits. Like crack-heads do.

Well I hit excerpt and it limited characters so the link was included to the video which I am not supposed to embed, or am I? You know, if conservatives just want to attack other conservatives for trying to spread a conservative message, I won’t spread it here. Congratulations, you’ve killed a FReeper.

Well I hit excerpt and it limited characters

That would be your first mistake.

the link was included to the video which I am not supposed to embed, or am I?

What, link directly to the source? Hell yes.
But hey, claiming it as your own might just get you some hits.

if conservatives just want to attack other conservatives for trying to spread a conservative message

Spreading is good. Claiming it as your own and stealing hits.. not so good.

I won’t spread it here

You mean pimp it for hits? Because that's what you were doing.

Congratulations, you’ve killed a FReeper.

Without even firing a shot.

Here's a prize to take with you:

We aren't your "hit farm".

I for one don’t consider it to be blogpimping if it’s original content written by the postser (as opposed to a link to a blog that just excerpts/links to some other source). I even asked the mods about that when I had a small 2nd Amendment blog.

HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL BE KILLED ON 0BAMA-CARE

How many people have been killed already because they lost their job and benefits under Obama's oppressive economic policies which have caused 10% unemployment?

Keep up the good work! Don’t let a few folks on Free Republic get you down. Just post your entire piece next time (don’t hit excerpt); you’ll still get some visitors. :)
