I for 1 am sick of every GD “tragedy” causing the flag to be lowered.
Ever since 9/11, every damn “tragedy” has had the US flag lowered. What a sign of wimpiness.
The Code calls ONLY for it to be lowered for the death of major heads of state.
I could understand 9/11, because that was a MAJOR atrocity.
However, it should not be used to dumb-down how the flag is handled.
(Regards to the victims of these massacres. This is not the subject right now.)
It almost reaches the sad situation..., “Yeah, I carried out an attack that was so vile, the Pres__ent Resident lowered the nation’s flags to half staff.

I am with you 100%.
It isn’t that I don’t feel sympathy for those affected, I simply think it is WRONG to show how weak we are by constantly doing this.
We didn’t have flags at half-mast at Normandy. We didn’t do it at Peleliu. We didn’t do it at Iwo Jima.
It paints us as gutless wusses.
