The hero Brooklyn-born cop who took up to nine bullets trying to stop an alleged racist madman shooting up a Sikh temple in suburban Milwaukee was more worried about other victims than himself.
"He told them to go into the temple, Oak Creek, Wis., Police Chief John Edwards said today about Police Lt. Brian Murphy, 51, whose brother, Terry, is a retired NYPD detective.
Brian Murphy had waved off help from fellow officers Sunday during the carnage at the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin.

Bless you Lieutenant Murphy, get well soon and may you and all like you keep your edge!
( Has “President” Obama phoned yet to congratulate this hero?)
It is an individual like officer Murphy that puts perspective into life.
God Bless his recovery.
Recover swiftly and uneventfully, sir.
He ain’t one of Holder’s people.
Was Colin Ferguson a “racist madman?”
He gets my respect.
I don’t like hero worship in any form, but he is an exception. A true hero.
Prayers for a speedy recovery for this good man. And extra prayers for his family and loved ones...

What a stupid headline. He’s not a Brooklyn cop. He’s been in WI for over 20 years and NY is trying to take credit for his actions.
Lt. Brian Murphy ping (officer took 9 bullets at Sikh Temple)
FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.
He was born in Brooklyn and started his career as a cop in Brooklyn.
It's like saying you can't call Mickey Mantle an Oklahoman because he lived and worked for twenty years in New York.
Bah! Please. They are trying to connect him with NY. If they had said, “Former Brooklyn Cop...” it might pass. They are clearly hoping people will think his experience in NY is the reason he did what he did.
