They don’t *only* carry knives. Sikhs do have to carry a knife as part of their religion. That is mandated from way back when in order to defend the religion.
Sikhs were always the main source of warriors in India although they are excellent business men and traders as well. In this case it’s unlikely the shooter was a Sikh, but I wouldn’t be surprised to hear many have firearms at home.
I used to live next door to a sikh in Mississippi. He would down a bottle of Johnny Walker black every night. He didn’t have the special underwear or carry a knife, but he NEVER shaved his face.
