Anyone who supports the private ownership of guns should be aware of what James Madison has to say about the subject in Federalist 46

Can you give us a summary FRiend?

A summary?

OK but it is easy to find and if you run into an argument w/one
of those old school gun grabbers who claims the 2nd Amend
refers to a militia then don’t use my short rant, go to the source.

In Fed 46 Madison is discussing how local govt can balance fed
govt. He does point out that local militias with elected officers
could oppose a federal army but he actually gloats (IMO) how
the several European govts are afraid to trust the people w/guns
while Americans are armed. A few other statements deep into
Federalist 46 leave no doubt where Madison, the “Father of the
Constitution” stood with regard to private gun ownership.

You should take a few minutes to look it up.
