The only point I was trying to make was in Texas, we had a primary that included, Cruz, Dewhurst, former Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert, SMU gadfly Craig James and a couple of others. Cruz was relatively unknown at the beginning of the primaries, and it's difficult to say how the conservative vote was ultimately split among the 4 major candidates. In Texas, if the winner doesn't break 50%, the top 2 have a run-off...which is what happened. I wouldn't be surprised if many who voted for Dewhurst the first time ended up on the Cruz band wagon the second time.
The full throated, early and often endorsement of Cruz by Mark Levin may have been what helped him go from a relatively unknown to front runner status in such a short time. Cruz himself gave a great deal of the credit to Levin.
I'm not sure how this compares to what's gong on in Wisconsin, or if there is a chance for a run-off.
"I'm not sure how this compares to what's gong on in Wisconsin, or if there is a chance for a run-off."Me neither. But who would have thunk a run-off would occur in TX? I highly doubt anyone saw that coming from the start; hence, the "upset".
I'm just happy there are conservatives now running against the establishment....and kicking butt!
