If they can vote anytime up until the election why do they need until 3 days after anyway?
If an "ordinary" citizen can vote in that way up until "X" why can't members of the Armed Forces...who have endured, and *are* enduring,so much suffering in the last 10 years...vote until "X + 3"????????
Nobody can vote anytime up until election day.
From the article:
Currently, Ohio allows the public to vote early in-person up until the Friday before the election. Members of the military three extra days to do so.The Obama campaign is objecting to the three extra days before the election during which the military, but not other voters, can cast an early ballot.

Ahh....I take it you haven’t experienced the occasional, and frequently unexpected, vagaries of military service.
“If they can vote anytime up until the election why do they need until 3 days after anyway?”
Because of mail-in ballots. The military mail system (from war zones) can take an erratic amount of time. They were trying to give our guys a chance to get their ballots in.
In the last election, my husband requested his ballot 6 weeks out. He got it just a couple of days before the election. No idea if his vote counted or not.
And yes. He was seriously p*ssed.
To allow for the possibility that service members might have missed the normal deadline because they were busy fulfilling their duty.
Think of it this way:
individuals in military = pro American
Obama/Democrat Party = anti American
Because submarines don’t have the daily mail.
