Maybe Mitt has found a system of socialized medicine he likes even more than Romneycare.

To be fair to Mitt, I suspect it's the cost aspect that he was thinking about, but the fact remains he's praising a system which guarantees health care to every Israeli regardless of ability to pay.

Doctors in Israel all belong to a union. In the past when they have gone on strike the mortality rate in the country actually went DOWN!

“marveled at how little Israel spends on health care relative to the United States.”

Amazing what billions in U.S foreign aid can do.

Does Isreal allow anyone from any nearby country to sign up for those national ‘health care rights’ like we do? I suspect they limit who gets the benefits to avoid national bankruptcy. (Why give free health care to a kid who will strap a suicide bomb pack on later anyway?)

They don't have thousands of new Dreamers every-day entitled.

Tell you what, let California enact a state wide socialized system and lets see how it works.

No doubt, we will have to spend the next four years fighting Romney back to the right every step of the way. But let’s get rid of Obama first!

He will bring Romney care to us if elected...it only makes sense...he will use the guise of ...well its state mandated...but it will still be mandated...
I am voting for Constitution Party for POTUS...GOP for US Senator here in Florida in hopes of overturning health care disaster...but I have had it with E GOP...Cheney’s remarks about Palin were typical E GOP circular firing squad instead of going after Obama

Every time I begin to warm towards Mittens, the vapid dork once again demonstrates that he has the mind of a pea.

But, at least he does have a mind...unlike our Cretin-in-Chief.

The percentage of people on the dole, living on welfare in Israel is probably lower than what it is in the US, thereby making their healthcare more affordable.

How many illegals enter Israel every year who all qualify for medical care?

If America could provide ALL U.S. citizens healthcare at 8 or even 10% of GDP instead of the present 18% I would vote for it in a second!

Heh. The low cost is precisely because of its socialist nature — all advanced socialized medicine systems have lower costs than the U.S. non-system.

BTW, in praising Israeli economic performance, he omitted the billions in stimulus spending pumped into the Israeli economy over many decades, courtesy of U.S. tax payers — per capita, vastly, vastly greater than any of Obama’s tyrannical, budget-busting boondoggles.

As someone who has gone through the Israeli Health Care system I can tell you flat out, it is great. And impossible to do in the United States without completely getting the Fed out of the way.

The first difference and the biggest, is you would have to have complete Tort Reform first. You cant sue for silly stuff in Israel. So the doctors don't have to waste time testing for every possible bit of crap before they get down to helping you.

Secondly, the entire medical profession has a different mindset. When you go to the doctor and the visit with one is done, he hands you all your records. You are responsible to follow up everything. He tells you where to go, hands you your folder and its done. He is not responsible for you, YOU are. That does not work in America either. People are not assumed to be brain dead in Israel.

I had a procedure done that would have cost $30,000 in the US. It cost me $750 bucks. But there is a bit of a difference. I was handed a box of syringes and drugs and was shown how to give my wife shots. It was up to me to do it and do it right, we did not have to go in for weekly visits. This frees up a heck of a lot of doctor time.

Comparing Israeli health care to the US is completely apples and oranges. It shows Mitt is CLUELESS, or dishonest. I vote clueless, due to not understanding the cultural differences.

Can you imagine handing a box of drugs and syringes to a welfare recipient and giving the doctor immunity from lawyers? In Israel if you slip on a sidewalk, you are considered a klutz, not criminally attacked by the owner of the sidewalk.
