The best thing to do, in the war with State Dept Arabists, is next spring, appoint John Bolton to run it... What's needed with State, is to get legislation passed which declares everybody above the level of file clerk to be a political appointee, who serves at the pleasure of the president. And then have the incoming Republican president express his displeasure.
