Local politicians are unfortunately well seated. I would expect the population at large to be more friendly to firearm ownership, and work to getting senior rank and file leo's favorable to ccw into the sheriff's chair.

In sacto we have done a 180 since the late 80's. In fact, last election, both candidates for sheriff ran on a pro ccw platform!, much to the chagrin of the city politicos.

Takes a lot of work to turn the ship, but is can be turned, in small degrees.
