Union Boss Says Green Jobs Are Bull**** [Project Veritas]

Another undercover operation by Project Veritas, which is led by investigative video specialist James O'Keefe, has revealed what labor unions truly believe about the billions of dollars that go toward the alleged "greening" of our energy usage.

They're "bull****" http://www.theprojectveritas.org/node/138

Those were the words that came out of the mouth of John Hutchings, a legislator for New York's Broome County, who is also a construction market representative for the Laborers International Union for upstate New York. He is also an executive officer of the Central New York Labor Federation, AFL-CIO, according to his bio.

...Project Veritas actors, who portrayed leaders of a make-believe company called Earth Supply and Renewal, captured the remark in a meeting they obtained with Hutchings and other union leaders to discuss the possibility (again, this was an act) of winning government grants or contracts for their work. The only problem was that Earth Supply and Renewal sold themselves as in the business of carrying out only a very simple task: digging holes, and filling them back in.

Justifications and rationalizations, that’s all one can infer from the union bosses’ statements.

The “green jobs” provide for employment, so, “it’s all good”. Never mind that, it’s pulling money from the economy, and it’s also coming from money borrowed, which all hurt the economy, which put other people out of work, and add to the deficit, which also puts other people out of work. It’s all about “me, me, me” with the unions. And, Obama and the democrats know that they can count on those union workers for their votes, so, the phony jobs will keep coming the way of the unions.

Here are 48 things that Barack Obama has done which should make his supporters feel ashamed and embarrassed

25) Gave tax dollars to campaign contributors and lobbyists, and falsely claimed that the money was for “green” energy

The Obama administration gave $535 million to Solyndra, claiming that it would create 4,000 new jobs. However, instead of creating those 4,000 new jobs, the company went bankrupt. It was later revealed that the company’s shareholders and executives had made substantial donations to Obama’s campaign, and that the company had also spent a large sum of money on lobbying. In April 2012, CBS News reported that Solyndra had left a substantial amount of toxic waste at its abandoned facility in Milpitas, California. After Obama gave Raser Technologies $33 million to build a power plant, the company declared bankruptcy, and owed $1.5 million in back taxes. After Obama gave Abound Solar, Inc. a $400 million loan guarantee to build photovoltaic panel factories, the company halted production and laid off 180 employees. After Obama gave Beacon Power a $43 million loan guarantee to build green energy storage, the company filed for bankruptcy. After Obama approved $2.1 billion in loan guarantees for Solar Trust of America so it could build solar power plants, the company filed for bankruptcy. Although Obama stated that all of the green energy companies that received taxpayer money were chosen “based solely on their merits,” the truth is that 71% of these grants and loans went to Obama donors and fundraisers, who raised $457,834 for his campaign, and were later approved for grants and loans totaling more than $11 billion. By November 2011, the Energy Department’s inspector general had begun more than 100 criminal investigations related to Obama’s stimulus.

LIUNA was the target of a major FBI/IRS operation in the 1980’s and 90’s for labor racketeering in New York City, NJ, etc. including insurance fraud (Chicago, Florida, etc).

The Gotti’s and Gambinos were the prime targets, with other mobsters from Phila, Chicago, Las Vegas, and much of New Jersey/New York City.

The head of LIUNA was in jail, Arthur Coia (Sr) so his son Arthur Coia Jr took over. He and LIUNA gave the Clintons and the Democrats at least $10 MILLION in various election campaign and favorite-charties donations while all this was going on.

The sordid details can be found in “The American Spectator”, April 1997, “Let’s Be Friends: A Mob-Controlled Union Delivers the Goods for Bill”, by Byron York.

I worked on the Organized Crime Task Force’s Assets Seizure project which brought in a 200+ bill of indictments against LIUNA for using their facilities, etc. for criminal enterprises. Attorney Gen. Janet Reno quashed the indictments and appointed an attorney to take over control of LIUNA and allowed it to self-purge its Mafia members (which it reportedly did, but whether all of them were removed or merely reassigned has not been reported).

However, Coia Jr remained in control despite his ties to Organized Crime (and the Clintons, which was also a crime, i.e. bribes through political and charitable donations during the investigations).

Whethere LIUNA has been cleaned up from Mob dominance is unknown and there has been literally no reporting on it. The Clintons got millions in cash, the public got screwed with higher labor construction costs (estimated $1 of every $10 went to the Mob), and it was business as usual.

The US Attorney for the Southern District of NY, the famed crime fighter Mary Jo White was so incensed that she literally quite in disgust, and wrote a blistering letter of condemnation about the whole affair.

Meanwhile, the Clintons and Reno continued to screw the country, and the Democrat-controlled Congress never held a serious hearing on Mob infiltration of labor as Sen. Kefauver did back in the 1950’s (which greatly exposed the Mafia - Valachi, Costello, etc).

Now you know more of the story behind LIUNA.

I was in the LIUNA back then, Local 59. I always thought it ironic that at the time the head of the LIUNA was Caspar Lupo. ‘’lupo’’ is Italian for ‘’wolf’’. He sure was one alright. Sold the union out to the Mob.
