Newt Gingrich spoke at a seminar on conservative leadership. in his speech he predicted fast economic growth based on energy and manufacturing if President Obama loses the 2012 election. He also talked about foreign policy.

Here’s the thing...
Newt was my choice for the nomination so I don’t want anyone to think I don’t like him or his ideals.
The problem with focusing on a headline like this is that yes, we can have explosive economic growth with a new administration and sane energy policy. Absolutely.
But we can not fix our deficits or stop a financial collapse without slashing all government spending at every level from local to federal by about 50%. Anything else we do will only delay the inevitable.
So it’s awesome that we may have the chance to do the right thing on energy but the spending is the only thing that matters now. If you are spending 100% more than you take in, and you add 25% to your annual income that’s good news... for about ten seconds. Then you remember that your debt is still growing 75% compounded every year. You are still just as bankrupt.
