Local BSA officials said the young man was fired not because he is gay, but because he failed to heed repeated requests to dress appropriately for camp. Specifically at issue were his painted fingernails and earring, although one senior official said there were also complaints about his mannerisms and behavior.

I doubt the Girl Scouts will take him. The GSUSA is far more discriminatory than the BSA is. The BSA discriminates against the 3% of the population that is gay and the (whatever it is)% of the population that is atheist. The GSUSA discriminates against the 50% of the population that is male. They can’t join at all as youth and they limit them as adults. In the BSA young women ages 13 to 20 can join as youth and there are no limitations on the positions that female adults can hold.
