The second amendment was intentionally put in a document that exists for no other purpose than to give rights to the people and to counter federal power.
Actually, the US Constitution doesn’t give rights to the people. It simply spells out the rights they inherently own, rights given to them by God. No one, for example, has a moral right to take away your God-given right to self defense. That doesn’t mean they won’t try, but it’s evil to take away what God has given.
