Well ..... I have a great respect for you and usually agree with the comments I see you make. I especially love your keen sense of humor.
That being said, I think we will have to agree to disagree about this. I have found my gut reactions to things like this to be mostly reliable. (I still try never to say never, so I’m open to the possibility you are correct, but my strong inclination is to believe Sgt Stanek.)
I don’t know, of course, what the extent of his injuries were, but I’ve met and known people with head trauma before. I’ve seen similar twitches and grimacing expressions. I did not read into that any attempt to deceive.
I will allow for the possibility that he may be somewhat confused about events, but I can say that I’ve experienced similar rude behavior with certain airline employees myself. And I’m not disabled or in need of special assistance.
I have a suspicious nature about certain things just as you do. but my suspicion runs more along the lines of wondering if the employee who kicked the dog was a Mohammedan, as they are notoriously “offended” by any canine presence. (A reaction, no doubt to feeling humbled in the presence of a nobler being.)
WOW!!!
Thanks! That comment made my morning.
I have a traumatic brain injury [TBI] and understand the frustration of which Stanek speaks. If I were handed papers as he was, I know I would not be able to read and comprehend them in a timely fashion as I once was pre-TBI. Even if asked a simple question, I sometimes can't answer right away...and need to pause to process it B4 I can answer ..yeah...at times I appear to be *retarded*.
I think he was very good about recalling the events [in my brand of TBI...it would be impossible for me]...I was listening to the video, more than watching it [open in another tab], doing other stuff, so I didn't really pick-up on much facial stuff. I would have been cursing and swearing *long* B4 he did in all of this....I have no patience for stupid. Restraint be damned!
I did re-watch his cell phone video of the dog: Cell phone footage of Sarge at the airport after being kicked can be seen at 15:42.
I'd like to see what our *resident* dog-expert Salamander thinks; darling Sarge seems to be dreaming in the video [which would explain her respiration and shaking] ...which is why I think Stanek is somewhat exaggerating Sarge's trauma after being kicked. [**You can see that she is shaking like a leaf, her respirations [sic] are out of control, after having been kicked twice and spending all that time in the airport.**]
All that being said...God Bless Mr. Stanek and Sarge and Paws and Stripes. NO ONE should ever, ever be treated like that.
**You cant see all my wounds but I still feel like I need to be treated appropriately. I'm not asking for a red carpet, but just treat me the way that I need to be treated.** Amen to that. I hope the proper channels are being accessed in all of this....heads should roll.
I used to work in a home for people with profound head trauma. You’re right. His ‘tells’ are subtle, but they are there. This guy is no sham.
