That's Impossible.

The only person in my almost 64 years of living in it and near it, that's been able and willing to "rough up the old boy network" was US Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald (yes that Fitz, of Scooter Libby fame). And that was because he was beholden to no one in Chicago or Illinois so he could go after anyone without fear of any skeletons magically appearing in the Chicago Slum-Times (wholly owned by the RATS and 'the Combine').

Fitz is mostly known for getting Blago (besides Scooter), and Tony Rezko. But besides that he went after the Daley Machine₍₁₎, the Cook County Board 'machine', and the very connected ex-Gov George Ryan (RINO-Thief) whose now in Federal Prison too. And Fitz never lost, not once. When he Indicted someone they got convicted, period. And in Fitz's 'spare time' he brought down, broke into little pieces, the entire Chicago Outfit₍₂₎ (the Mob, aka The Syndicate) and in doing so cleared up and got convictions for Mob Hits that went back Eighteen Years.

So no, a Palin wouldn't and couldn't do it. It would take someone like Patrick Fitzgerald in office to "rough up the old boy network". But the GOP RINOs and The Combine would never let that happen.

₍₁₎ Daley didn't decide to retire and not run again for his health or to be 'near his family', Fitz was breathing down his neck and Daley was scared sheetless of being next.
₍₂₎ The Chicago Outfit is so weak now the New York Families have moved in on the Porn Industry for shakedowns. Would never happen in the 'good old days'.
