The government doesn’t give a damn about security, they would love nothing more than to see another terrorist attack so they can take away more freedoms and attain more power! Go to an airport, like Fort Worth and others, it’s like being in a foreign land, call me a racist, I could care less, political correctness will be the death of this nation, it already has! Under Obama and Napolitano, if your a minority, congratulations, you are above reproach and the law! Terrorists are not judged by the content of their character but the color of their skin, so, if you’re from Somalia or Afghanistan, go right through security, or, better yet, here’s a job with security clearance at an airport! The democrats and republicans fear the term racist to such an extent, that they are willing to frisk and assault senior citizens and children rather than offend the sensibilities of a minority for the sake of security!

Truth be told, the government does give a damn about security —provided you’re a member of the military (below flag rank) or a worker bee civil service type. For individuals in that category, even the slightest offense can result in the loss of your security clearance. Believe me, during my time in the spook world, I saw it happen to a number of individuals, some who did nothing more than run up consumer debt, or get arrested as a first-time DUI offender.

Personally, I have nothing against tight standards—as long as they’re enforced across the boards. I knew an Air Force general (who eventually rose to four-star rank) who had as many as two DUIs as a flag officer and got in trouble for other offenses as well. Yet, his clearance was never affected, and he later became a part of the military “mentor” program for aspiring flag officers as well. And lest we forget, Sandy “Docs in My Drawers” Burger lost his clearance for only a brief time for smuggling classified materials out of the National Archives.

Clearly, Ms. Clinton’s “aide” falls in that privileged category as well. If she was applying for an entry-level analyst position at DIA or CIA, there’s a very good chance she would be denied a clearance, based on her families ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. Or at the very least, it might take 2-3 years to clear her.

That’s the way the system is supposed to work. During my days as a junior military intel officer I met an Air Force intel officer of Chinese-American descent. Because her grandparents emigrated from Red China after the communist takeover, it took more than two years for her to gain a TS/SCI clearance. I’m guessing that Hillary’s aide was cleared for our most sensitive information in minimum time, with no regard for her family connections.

Gary Aldrich, the former FBI agent who exposed similar wrong-doing in the Clinton White House said it best: “I’m clearing people (for classified information) that I would normally be hand-cuffing. As Aldrich detailed in his book, literally scores of Clinton staffers were cleared despite problems that included drug addictions, serious financial problems and troubling associations.

Seventy years ago, Washington’s elites thought Alger Hiss was trustworthy, too. We know how that turned out.
