Do you really think we are having a sane societal debate on anything homosexuality-related when the typical Americans thinks that 25 percent — yes, 25 percent – of the country is “gay”?! What a frightening testament to the power of homosexualist propaganda in Hollywood and the media.

"In surveys conducted in 2002 and 2011, pollsters at Gallup found that members of the American public massively overestimated how many people are gay or lesbian. In 2002, a quarter of those surveyed guessed upwards of a quarter of Americans were gay or lesbian (or “homosexual,” the third option given). By 2011, that misperception had only grown, with more than a third of those surveyed now guessing that more than 25 percent of Americans are gay or lesbian.
Women and young adults were most likely to provide high estimates, approximating that 30 percent of the population is gay. Overall, “U.S. adults, on average, estimate that 25 percent of Americans are gay or lesbian,” Gallup found. Only 4 percent of all those surveyed in 2011 and about 8 percent of those surveyed in 2002 correctly guessed that fewer than 5 percent of Americans identify as gay or lesbian.

Contemporary research in a less homophobic environment has counterintuitively resulted in lower estimates rather than higher ones. The Williams Institute at UCLA School of Law, a gay and lesbian think tank, released a study in April 2011 estimating based on its research that just 1.7 percent of Americans between 18 and 44 identify as gay or lesbian, while another 1.8 percent — predominantly women — identify as bisexual. Far from underestimating the ranks of gay people because of homophobia, these figures included a substantial number of people who remained deeply closeted, such as a quarter of the bisexuals. A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention survey of women between 22 and 44 that questioned more than 13,500 respondents between 2006 and 2008 found very similar numbers: Only 1 percent of the women identified themselves as gay, while 4 percent identified as bisexual."
Well, if you watch the Bravo channel, it seems like about 80% of the population is gay.

No chit!...What with the news talking about gay this and gay that and every tv show having it’s token gay. They have indoctrinated the people very well. From less than 2% in reality to 25% in liberal land. No damn wonder!
Yes, no doubt that is their target number: Begin by making everyone feel 1/4 of Americans are gay- make it so, then up the ante to 50 and 75 %. Nothing bothers me more than false statistics being swallowed by the public and media, and yet the gay advocates jump all over Regnerus’ study showing gay parenting to be inferior, and have him under ethics investigation...
I bet 50% of America doesn’t know that 25% means a ratio of 1 to 4.
Or that it means 25 out of 100 ....

If 25% of the country were gay, the law of averages would pretty much tell us that NYC was half gay along with the entire population of San Francisco.

This reminds me a lot of the situation that existed between 1985 and 1995 when it was an "accepted fact" that "40 million" Americans were homeless. For a period of time during Bush I's tenure we heard this statistic in virtually every news broadcast, usually without citing a source. It took many years for casual news consumers to realize that the numbers were merely propaganda. Some probabaly never did.
Perception trumps reality.

Not surprising, really, when even a Professor at Yale deliberately lied about historical presence of same sex marriage, and no one bothered to correct him: _______

Since it’s now a commonplace for people to misrepresent the Bible’s view of same sex relations it should surprise no one that history itself is being subjected to the same sort of willful misreading and grotesque misprision.

Prof John Boswell, the late chairman of Yale University’s history department, found there were ceremonies called the Office of Same-Sex Union and the Order for Uniting Two Men in the 10th to 12th centuries.
The medievalist published Christianity, Social Tolerance, and Homosexuality: Gay People in Western Europe from the Beginning of the Christian Era to the Fourteenth Century in 1980.
According to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Studies section of Yale University’s website, the controversial book argued that the modern Catholic Church’s stance on homosexuality ‘departed from the tolerance and even celebration of homosexual love that had characterized the first millennium of the Church’s teachings’.
The research brings into perspective the debate raging in America over same-sex marriage after President Barack Obama announced that he now supports it.
The chronicler Gerald of Wales (‘Geraldus Cambrensis’) recorded same-gender Christian unions taking place in Ireland in the late 12th and early 13th centuries.

. . . it’s nothing but plain dishonesty on the part of “academics” like Boswell. Gerald of Wales’ record of Ireland “The Topography of Ireland” is freely available online [pdf] and I’m surprised nobody has yet simply read through it and fisked Boswell’s appalling argument.
Twenty-five percent? More like 2.5%, and that is probably high.
I brought this to my wife's attention, and she got mad at me because now, instead of watching the commercial, she's waiting for at least one person to show up who's black . . . and damn it all, a black shows up.
Every single time. Yet, they're not more than 11.8 or 12% of our population.
And yes, to get back on subject, one of our local beautiful TV anchorettes just babbled the other day that "Gays are 10% of our population."
If you are involved in church yout ministry, you will see a lot of this. There are many really confused and hurting kids out there right now.
