Dzerzhinsky was commissioned in December 1984. Before the collapse of the USSR.

The Russians don’t usually change the name of ships that have already been commissioned.

You, know, I kind of figured both of those.

Even so, renaming it Solzhenytsin or Sakharov would have been pretty good PR.
