Hold back on the criticism as I think the Republican Assembly and Senate leadership have not digested the rules at this time. The rules must have just hit the letterboxes as I have not seen any Wisconsin papers or blogs react as well.
The Republican are busy with reelection season and both houses are essentially out of session. I assume the rules have to be through the legislature committees before going in force. If not, Walker would put a hold on them going into effect. Expensive training a long training time is not in favor with most Republican pols and not with we who favor CCW.
Requirements:
1. Be of age. In the state of Vermont, that age is 16 or older. You must be at least 16 years of age to legally purchase a gun and keep it loaded on your person in public.
2. Obtain permission from a parent or guardian to carry a gun if youre under the age of 16. Failure to do so may result in being deemed a delinquent child by the state.
3. Have a clean record if purchasing a firearm. Things like felony convictions and dishonorable military discharge will show up during the federal instant check, and prohibit purchase
I guess this means VT must be like the Wild West on people who carry are always shooting themselves and others by accident.;)
Yes. I just talked to my Assemblyman and he was not yet read into it. He was for constitutional carry.
