Palin is keeping the dates open in late August, just in case. In any event, she says, she plans to be politically active between now and November, starting with a Michigan Tea Party appearance, sponsored by Americans for Prosperity. “No matter the Romney campaign strategy,” she says, “I intend to do all I can to join others in motivating the grassroots made up of independents and constitutional conservatives who can replace Barack Obama at the ballot box.”

It also talks about Kevin Madden, the Palin-basher. I told you guys months ago that Sarah might not get a chance to speak

If Palin manages to schedule a speech at the same time as the GOP keynote address, I see no problem watching hers.

No need to rehash the girlie men business-as-usual go-along-to-get-along RINOs.

The eunuchs can keep pretending that the 'Rats are worried.

There's really no reason to bother watching the Republican convention if there are no Conservative speakers.

Still, if they have some violence I might tune in later on ~ but it'd really take something to get me to bother with it.

This is a campaign conducted by congenital losers and they will lose as bad this time as the last time they ran a campaign.

We will not be rid of this GOP-e crowd until we expel them from the party.

Sarah Palin is intelligent, caring and real. She leads by example and if her prescriptions for energy independence, free market principles and less government were followed, the country would be on a path to recovery. It would be to the detriment of the GOP and Romney if she is not given a role in Tampa.

Palin’s speech at the 2008 convention was one of the best I’ve ever heard. I despise the GOP-E.

Why would a liberal want a conservative to give a speech at his coronation?

Uummm....Ok Rommey is the nominee does it really matter whether Palin speaks or not? What would be the point with Mitt has the headliner. What could she possibly say that would make this a better situtation? Nobody is going to be watching this either way.

It would be like Ozzy giving a speech before Justin Bieber is accepted into the Rock-N-Roll Hall Of Shame. Which will probably happen before Deep Purple, Rush, Lynyrd Skynyrd, etc... get in.

We are being spat upon and laughed at by the GOP. They shoved the feckless Romney on us and care nothing for our values. Why? Because too many of us will STILL march into the voting booth and vote for who they tell us.

What? The word is getting out that only the RINOS and fearfilled are voting for Romney, and the s.o.b. conservatives are not?

About time. Hope the GOPE notices that 3 or 4% of us, or whatever it actually turns out to be, may matter in the end.

Probably they should have thought this problem through, before they crammed Romney down our throat. A socialist on a Republican ticket is no way to get my vote. EVER.

They are done with us and it’s quite clear our vote will be replaced by the 3/4% of socialists who are out of work. We are banished. But for the suckers who will vote Establishment.

Ick.

She catalyzed the American conservative movement anew, when their previously anointed CINO (McCain) failed miserably in so doing... and where their current CINO du jour (Mittens) is pratfalling, just as predictably.

They will never, ever, EVER forgive her for that.

The Republican Party is rotting from within. I wish Sarah and other like-minded politicans would flip the elites the bird and all join another party, like the Constitution Party.

They all are so clearly not welcome, as are the rank-and-file conservative, it just doesn’t make sense to waste time with them.

[ Romney was the choice of the party’s elites ]

Actually too many conservative candidates was what selected Romney.. The conservative vote was watered down.. It was not party elites at all..

Unless some of the candidates were the party elites..
Romney is and was known to be a RINO... still is..
Too many conservatives is what selected Romney..

Some conservatives are not conservatives..
Whats needed is a radical.. not a conservative..
It would take a radical to restore this Republic..
Radical change is needed..

The word conservative is nebulous..

OK, so I haven’t read all 90 plus posts but I imagine that many of us are saying something like: Palin is our favorite leader in the party. She draws the largest crowds since Reagan. She is a great speaker. She is supporting Romney.

SO, if she isn’t invited to speak, I will not be watching any of the convention.

Why are they demotivating the base?

Pretty certain now that by the end of September the campaign knew that McCain would not win, and they were bound and determined that Palin would not get in the way of a Romney nomination in 1012. After 2012, the Establishment -read the Bushies et all—had decided that Romney was their boy, and neither Palin nor anyone else more conservative would get the nod.

I might be wrong but somehow I don’t think so. In this time of flip-flopping candidates and national committees that actively work against those candidates the people support, I believe we are in need of constituents and voters who are willing to take a stand.

A few days before McCain announced his coice for VP — before most people even knew Sarah existed, I e-mailed the RNC to tell them (I doubt they read it) I would not support McCain unless Sarah were his running mate. I knew then that she was the best choice for the position, especially since McCain was in relatively poor hralth and might not complete his term if he were elected.

Then I watched as the RNC proceeded to tear her apart with rumor and innuendo bolstered by outright lies. They were so successful the lies are still being repeated, even by some who said they supported her at the time. Obviously Mitt isn’t the only flip-flopper among Republicans.

Well, here we are, nearly four years later and we’re going to get just what we deserve, if not Romney then another four years of Obama. Alone, I have no control over the outcome of the election. In truth, with the Spanish company (owned by George Soros) compiling the votes, I doubt any combination of conservative voters will be enough to sway the election. But, just as I knew she was the best in 2008 I still believe she is head and shoulders above Romney or any of the other casualties who once dreamed of the nomination. So, I am still going to vote for the one person whom I feel is best qualified to lead this once-great nation.

Go Sarah!

Newsweek, eh? Could this story be an effort to further alienate conservatives from Romney and suppress the conservative vote?

And, how is this going to get enough conservative voters/very conservative voters to, willingly, vote for Mitt Romney, this November? Is Mitt trying to lose?

In 2008 she gave 110%. She was subjected to baseless ridicule and she and her family were dragged through the mud. The GOP was silent or helping in doing the dragging.

As a result of her VP run, she was targeted in Alaska with unfounded lawsuits that nearly bankrupted her family. The GOP was silent.

She was accused of complicity in a mass murder and again the GOP was silent. When she tried to defend herself, she was accused of racism. The GOP was silent.

She was instrumental in the development of the TEA Party as a grassroots organization of conservatives. The GOP tried to co-opt it. She and the TEA Party were responsible for the 2010 Republican takeover of the House and in many statehouses across the country. The GOP establishment denied her credit and took credit themselves for the victory.

Gov. Palin endorsed Judge David Prosser in WI while the GOP was silent. He won. Gov. Palin went to Madison and confronted the union thugs while the GOP establishment hid. Gov. Palin supported Gov. Scott Walker and she endorsed Lt Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch in WI recall elections while most of the GOP cowered in fear. They won.

She is endorsing Constitutional conservatives in 2012 and they are winning.

She is the most in-demand Republican speaker in the country and groups pay as much as $100,000 for a Palin speech.

Yet Mitt Romney and his campaign won’t let her speak at their convention for free. This is a slap in the face to all conservatives. We have been taken for granted in the Republican Party since 1988. Now they want to have our votes and insult us at the same time.

If Romney holds to this decision, conservatives should contact their delegates and tell them that bound or not, if they go Tampa and vote for Romney, just plan on staying there.
