San Diego police said two men tried to carjack a gang detective who was in an unmarked car Tuesday night.
The San Diego police detective was on duty and was stopped in his car at 48th Street and Polk Avenue in the Colina del Sol neighborhood about 9:30 p.m. when the men approached the car. One of them reached for his waistband and told the detective, This is a carjacking, San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros said.
The detective identified himself and drew his service weapon, and the men ran. The detective ran after them but lost them nearby.
They were described as Latino and in their 20s, one with dark skin, police said.
How fortunate “some” Californians can carry weapons to defend themselves from criminal depradation.
FAIL!
Everybody keep a lookout for two twenty-something Latinos in the San Diego area, OK ?
“Latino and in their 20s, one with dark skin”
....with shaved heads and baggy pants.
That narrows it down........
“The detective identified himself and drew his service weapon, and the men ran. The detective ran after them but lost them nearby.”
The cop was too darned busy flapping his lips telling them who he was instead of giving them heavy doses of Vitamin Pb.
Great point!!
Reminds me of the scene in “Code Of Silence” where two hoodlums try to pull a robbery in a bar full of off-duty cops.
