How long have we been saying this was the next step. After homosexuals can be allowed to "marry" there is no end to how liberals will try to destroy the family, which is the foundation for society.

There is no marriage, there are not parents or children, we are all just wards of the state.
Our major concerns are to eat and fornicate.

First I’ve heard of this, and I don’t know what arrangements it’s intended to recognize, but the reality is that I know many children that have more than two parents. Divorce and remarriage are common, so step-parents are as well.

Myself when I was young, I had a step-father who actually helped raise me, and a biological father who did not. The law was required to make a choice between them, and we contemplated a legal adoption by my step-father. If this proposal offers another solution it is worth considering.

The bill's proponents stress that additional parents added by a court must still meet the definition of a parent under current law.

Supporters of the measure say it stems from a 2011 appellate court decision involving a young girl and her two mothers. When one of the women was sent to prison and the other hospitalized, the girl's biological father was unable to act as her legal guardian under current California law, which only recognizes two legal parents per child.

"Right now, under California law, a judge is being forced to rule in a way that he knows will hurt the child in front of him by denying the child a relationship with a real parent that would otherwise meet the stringent test for being a parent," said Ed Howard, of the Children's Advocacy Institute at the University of San Diego School of Law.

"This has nothing at all to do with the broader culture wars," Howard told FoxNews.com. "It has to do with recognizing on the ground who should make the call as to whether or not the evidence and the facts show that it's in the best interest of the child."

...so all the kids in the country illegally will be able to send home for all their “parents”?

What a great way to get more liberal Democrat voters. :)

Soory but they cannot redefine Latin words which have been around 2500 years.

Webster`s Dictionary:
p.610 “parent (par’ent), n. [OF., fr. L. parens, entis, fr. parere to bring forth]
1. One who begets or brings forth offspring; a father or a mother”
p.327. “foster parent, a woman or man who has performed the duties of a parent to the child of another”

step-parent - by remarriage

So by definition, 3 parents is a contradiction in
terms,
ergo, a lie.

Wouldn’t this also affect the ability of the child to later qualify for student loans since the income of all parents would be listed?

The Road To Hell Is Paved With Good Intentions ...

California's going to be like Detroit - they'll show the nation WHY and HOW liberal ideas don't work. We owe Detroit for that - and in the future we'll owe Californian for the same.

PS Built those meglev trains California, keep liberal elites in charge - all icing on the cake...

If this bill is passed the state and the feds are going to have to hire a whole bunch more folks to handle the child support determinations and enforcement that will follow.

While they are at it, they should pass a law defining solvency as having no money to pay bills, but hoping that you will have the money someday.

"The proposal, by Democratic state Sen. Mark Leno of San Francisco,....."

I wonder if Sen. Mark Leno would want the below person to be a parent. Who knows, maybe he is a parent to some of these children he molested.
